Mini - symposium Title

MS0018  Applications to turbulent flow

Description

This mini-symposium invites presentations on the latest discoveries and advancements in both fundamental and applied research related to turbulence and shear flow phenomena. While maintaining a focus on traditional areas like Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS), Large Eddy Simulation (LES), turbulence modeling, and experimental studies, the organizers aim to highlight several emerging and critical topics, including:

  • Control of turbulence and heat/mass transfer

  • Modeling and simulation of complex fluid flows

  • Plasma and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence

  • Turbulence in reactive and multiphase systems

  • Flows in biological, biomedical, and clinical contexts

  • Noise generation and fluid-structure interactions

  • Utilizing machine learning for turbulence discovery

  • Environmental, geophysical, and compressible turbulence

  • Data assimilation and reconstruction of turbulent flows

  • Innovative techniques for turbulence measurement

These focus areas are intended to reflect cutting-edge research directions and foster discussions that integrate diverse aspects of turbulence study.
